If you are such a committed seafood lover as we are, this article will be definitely useful for you to read. Here we are going to tell all about tiny but flavourful shellfish — shrimps. They can be served as a delicious snack at the party that will tantalize everyone to come closer to the table OR as a superior dish that will look just like from the chef’s kitchen.
Let’s discuss the health benefits of shrimps firstly. Despite being really small, they contain A LOT of nutritions. Prawns are an excellent source of unsaturated fats that help improve cholesterol levels. And yes, like any other fish, they are full of Omega-3 fatty acids that help reduce inflammation and the risk of any heart disease and arthritis.
Want to get protein without consuming a lot of fat? With prawn, it’s an easy code to crack as they are a super low-fat source of protein which contains calcium, phosphorus, potassium, vitamin A and E. By the way, Vitamin A helps protect you from illnesses and infections, promotes vision at dim light, and keeps the skin healthy and bright.
But how to cook shrimps?
There are three common ways of preparing this delicacy to make you drooling — grilling, sautéing and boiling. But today’s story will be about GRILLING — our favorite one!
Why?
Simply imagine a bit charred little juicy prawns that have a smoky flavor from the grill… You take one piece, soak it in a garlic sauce, and gently taste this goddess along with sipping cold lemonade. Damn delicious!
Ok, are you ready? Let’s go!
You’ll need:
1/2 cup butter
1 minced shallot
4 minced cloves garlic
salt and pepper to taste
1 1/2 pounds medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 lemons, halved
Directions:
Melt butter in a small pan on medium heat. Add shallot, garlic, salt, pepper, and mix everything thoroughly.
Thread shrimp on skewers and sprinkle them with 2 tablespoons of the butter mixture.
Preheat the grill to medium heat.
Put skewers on the grill and cook the shrimps 3-5 minutes in general, turning them occasionally. They have to become pink and opaque at the end.
During the last 2 minutes sprinkle them with lemon juice.
Serve immediately. Remember, it’s a must to sip the wine while eating them! We won’t recommend some kind of hooey.
Bot appetite!
